What a Night at Erin’s Isle GAA in aid of Finglas United FC.

The Stars gathered last Saturday Night to perform at Erins Isle GAA Club in Finglas in a Spectacular Big Stage Production, Lip Sync Legends Fundraiser, all in aid of local Soccer Club Finglas United FC. Based on the US Hit TV Show, Lip Sync, over 40 Members and Supporters of the Club took to the stage to perform as iconic Music Legends of today and yesterday in front of a packed house of over 750. Having spent 5 weeks rehearsing and being styled they put on a Show to be proud of for life.

The acts on the Night included ABBA, The Blues Brothers, Bruno Mars, Christine Aguilera, Dream Girls, Freddy Mercury, Grease, Human Nature, Little Mix, Rihanna, Will Smith, and Wilson Picket.

Hosted by Top MC Keith Mooney, the night kicked off with a Group performance (all the contestants performed ‘We built this City’) followed by an incredible medley performed by the Professional Choreography Team.

Paul Smith is a Committee Member of the Club and being a veteran of several Strictly Events participated in Lip Sync Legends also. ‘Tonight is all about the future funding of the Club, and events like this will make Finglas United FC one of the biggest Clubs in Dublin – it’s great to see all these people here tonight’.

According to Donna Murphy, Senior Choreographer from Move Me Ireland, who partner Fundraising Events Group with all their Events, ‘We have an amazing team that tutor all elements of contestant management throughout the few weeks for each event, bringing them from a bunch of nervous nellies to a uniformed group of Stage Ready Artists for the night. It is amazing to see the transformation from start to finish & it is great to watch communities getting closer through our events’. Donna, being a Finglas girl herself, had a special association with this one as her Dad, Paddy Mitchell and his brothers and friends, performed Human Nature’s Iconic Hit, Runaround Sue. What a crowd pleaser this was & this is what it is all about. Over 100 Family and Friends came to see Paddy and his Brothers. They almost took the roof off at the end of their fantastic performance. Donna, Don, and Kat, watched everyone from week 1 pour their hearts into their performances. Our dance tutors couldn’t have been any happier with the outcome of all acts on the night. They were all worthy winners!

‘Finglas United FC is ‘one’ of the biggest Soccer Clubs on Dublin’s North-side and without Events like this we could not survive. It is a credit to the Members, Supporters, and Local Community, that we are able to stage an event to the magnitude of this’ said Club Secretary John Fox.

According to Jimmy Bouchier, Managing Director at Fundraising Events Group, the fundraising industry in Ireland is now at a par with Festivals and Concerts. ‘Everyone needs to Fundraise, and we have put together a Team of Professionals in every aspect of an event – Production, Tuition, Management, Media, Design, Print – we do it all, leaving the Club to concentrate on SELLING Tickets and Sponsorship’. ‘We take The HASSLE OUT and Put The FUN IN to Fundraising’.

In the end it came down to a FINAL 4 making Second Performance to decide the Winner between Freddy Mercury, Rihanna, Christine Aguilera, and Human Nature with the eventual winner being crowned for the Night, Freddy Mercury (AKA Jason Pierce).

Members who took to the stage included Esther and Christina (ABBA),  Paul and Sharon (The Blues Brothers), Shane O’Doherty (Bruno Mars), Fiona, Sue, Ruth and Laura (Christine Aguilera), Jade Lalor (Dream Girls), Jason Pierce (Freddy Mercury), Tina and Joe (Grease), Paddy, Ger, Anto, and the famous Bimbo (Human Nature), Chrissie, Laura, Niamh, and Ciara (Little Mix), Ryan Kavanagh (Rihanna), Thomas Quinn (Will Smith), and Darren Kirwan (Wilson Picket).
